So, I was at a customer unloading this morning.3 compartment trailer first two compartments had the same product in it. Unload first two compartments no problem, hook up to the fill line for the third product start unloading. About 5 minutes later the customers tank alarm goes off, so I shut the valves kill the air etc...guy comes out ask if I'm empty. Then says this is the wrong line. Here's the kicker..there's three lines one is labeled for the product I have the other two are random chemical names..the unloader guy I could have sworn pointed at the line I hooked to and said this is for 646(the third chemical) its mislabled but it's the right line. Of course he says otherwise, more than likely I'm gonna take the fall. I know in the end it's all on me but what are my odds here?

Had a similar situation back when I worked at a Cargill vegetable oil foundry back in 2006 to 2007. Was hooked up to a pump system like I was supposed to. Went to make the the changes on the computer for the correct valve path. Go down to the shed to start the pump. Go check the tank levels to verify flow, tank level went up 10k lbs, Got flow, go back in 30 minutes to check the trailer status. 3 hours after I'm unload I find out that the cable for the tank did not change because the axle on the valve broke below the sensor to verify the valve closed. Send the oil I was unloading went into another tank. So I contaminated 500,000lbs of high value palm oil with 4400 gallons of low value corn oil. It wasn't my fault, but the big guys claimed I caused over $300,000 of damage. So yeah I was fired.

    Good luck...

Just keep your head up and don't lie, maybe your company will see that there are mitigating circumstances and the company will take the fall

    Maybe not OP .
I my gas hauling days I whipped up a couple batches of gas and diesel that were a little unorthodox and dispatch found ways to blend it with other product that was saleable.

That's what they did with my screw up. They blended it in with product to get rid of it. I'm told it took them over a year to do so

If you got it in writing you were hooked to the correct line. Make copies of that letter so it some how does not get "lost" if you know what I mean
