Am I liable for costs as a 1099 employee

    Ft Morgan, CO. Lol. I was 2k over on my drives. But CAT showed me 100 and change over. And I can’t get new permits cause tractor is 2axle not 3. If it was 3 I coulda just got a new permit. But crab is coming in the morning.

    I'd just leave the truck and load at the scale and head home. Let them deal with it.

    Ticket was only 120$. I would just leave it. But I don’t even have money to get home. I couldn’t afford a #### cheeseburger if I wanted to.

    They only get away with it because drivers allow it. If drivers were not willingly working for said companies to try and avoid taxes then they would have no drivers to pull their freight
    Don't work for a company that is hiring illegally, then act all surprised they treat you the same way....

    If you dont have a business license and atleast know how to show your income and expenses on a 1040 schedule C, insist on being a W2 employee. The above are the bare minimum for a "contractor." Expect 30% or so to go to taxes, which you are personally responsible for.

    ttr is full of 1099 experiences. just do your research next time. your best bet is to bounce, but if your only able too. maybe 1099 companies are your only choice. but good luck
