Am I making decent money

    OK I need to know if I am making decent money compared to other companies. I work for Jb hunt and have been driving for about 4 years, if I get 2500 miles in a week and after taxes and medical for a family of 3 and the 401k which is 6 percent I take home about 700 so what do you guys think, thanks

    That's probably about average and what I was doing at a common carrier for my first 3 years.

    I'm at 4 1/2 years now and moved to a private fleet a year and a half ago and wouldn't even leave the house for that now lol

    If you've got a clean record with 4 years in you can bump that up by about 50% if you can get in with a good private fleet.

    When comparing pay its always best to use your gross earnings

    You could make 3 grand a week and still only take home 700

    is someone else in your home helping with the bills?if not I don't know how your supporting a family of 3 off that salary.it's pretty normal at companies like jb hunt but with your record I'd be looking for something better because u deserve better.

    What company pays good and has good benefits most say 50 or 60k but that's what Jb hunt said too I am tired companies bull about how much they say they pay
