Not word of English, not a word of Tagalog. She moaned pretty well, though.
When I woke up, I was extremely confused. I didn't know who she was, where I was or how I got there. But I was nekid.........she was nekid...............so I wasn't complaining.
On my epitaph it needs to say, "There comes a time in every man's life - and I've had plenty of 'em."
Sell me a new adventure in a truck. I'm in !![]()
Am I out of my mind for wanting to do this ?

China has changed a lot, but the wild times we had in Hong Kong are still there and all over the whole country, even in the villages and smaller towns & cities.
As for trucking; I love OTR trucking and have no regrets for doing it. You can hit the Oriental Massage Parlors across the country. Many have truck parking. Most of the girls are Chinese and maybe a few Pinoy's. -
Well we've pretty much detoured this thread. I needed to start a new one anyway about getting started with Senn.
But while I've still got your attention about all things nautical, tell me what you think of this idea.....
I have this exact Schatz Eight Day Bell clock on the wall in my office. The wife isn't crazy about it because it chimes (the 4 hour cycle just like underway). I'm thinking of finding a way to mount it in the sleeper berth of my truck. The bell has an on/off switch so you can silence it at night. I'll figure a way to mount it securely without putting holes in the truck, but how do think it would stand the vibration of the road ?
It mechanically winds and mine was manufactured about 1971 so it's quality made.
Edit : In the above video, this guy doesn't seem to understand the bell cycle. He never lets the single strike play out on the half hour. The clock is also different than the one I have on my wall......though I do have that clock as well. That clock is the first one I found and the bell switch is actually turned on and off by way of a flat had screwdriver on top/back. That clock version I own keeps great time, but the bell spring appears to have been over-wound. I keep it for parts in case I ever need to get my working version fixed.
THIS is the clock I have on my wall which works perfectly. You can see the bell switch on the face. Mine also has the lower tone bell which I don't like as much.Last edited: Oct 18, 2017

I'd make a couple of cross country trips before I installed that clock, then decide.SamuraiTater Thanks this. -
Senn uses Volvos and Internationals.....

I haven't seen the inside of a Volvo. Is there foot space at the end of the mattress ? I'm not some 6'5" guy, if there's several inches of foot space, I'll build wooden cabinetry w/ doors and tie it in from the top to keep it from falling. Hell, I'll even use real shot line just like you used to use spider-webbing everything in when you secured for sea.
If I can keep every little article from getting tossed on 30 degree rolls, I can do this. The clock could easily be mounted to a cabinet door.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Some of those Volvos are set up pretty nice. I drove one pulling tankers coast to coast and had plenty storage room. It was a raised roof/midroof like flatbedders use; not a condo.

Retired last year after 42 1/2 years in IT. I haven't seen it all but almost most of it, but if I never see another computer again (professionally) I will not complain.
I will be following a similar decision tree as you did, and will be starting a 3 week class just after Thanksgiving. I have been reading 'mao' and there comes a time where one just has to go out and do it. I will graduate 2weeks before my 66th birthday.
Thanks for sharing your journey.TPS Report and whoopNride Thank this.
