lol, they get holidays off, climate controlled office, and dont track oil in the house. Cool!
tho the daily bad breath and dealing with people in general, I'll take oil on my shoes, lol.

I have noticed, since posting this thread, otr / long haul drivers seem to have a stronger opinion as to the definition of "is".
I brought it up with couple of the local guys at work, just to see.
to me, this has become a bit amusing.

    Let's test this..haha..

    Am I a truck driver??

I have not driven a mile on a road in 2011 with a CMV.. I only move trailers around within the confines of our facility..

I do have about 715,000 CMV miles accident and citation free other than "over on the drives" tickets.

I fully plan on returning to line-haul next year so does that make me a truck driver??lol??

If you have a cdl and drive a truck your a truck driver. There are some drivers that think if you don't drive long haul your not a truck driver and trust me i have done long haul, local and a few things in between and driving a truck is driving a truck whether it's for 50 miles or 600 miles.

At the end of the day.. I fill out my log to put me in sleeper. It doesn't REALLY matter if I went 600 miles in one direction. If I was was post tripping to get into my car to go to the house, or my house is here tonight. All was safe and I'll think of home. We encounter Drivers all day everyday. Who is a trucker?
I personally don't care if I have a ribbon or patch. I am a trucker, I drive for a living!
    I am a newbie! :biggrin_25525:

Putting up with local stuff, not putting in the miles an OTR can put in makes you an expert in 'your' realm. Sheesh, I do reefer runs, and a buddy of mine does skateboard. All different. Truckers all we.. Dry van, dumps, day cab, short/long and heavy bros! All trucking, and needed.
    We all truckers.
