I'm halfway through truck driving school, and everythings going fine. Except for one problem. Last December, I got popped for speeding going to Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado. I was 17 over the limit. I've been rejected by one company on account of it, and before I put in more aps, I thought I'd ask you guys whether I have any options, or if I'm simply not going to be able to get an OTR job. I called the Colorado Dept of HWY Safety, and since I pled guilty and paid the fine, I can't take any sort of STOP class to get it off my record. God I want this so bad, and it makes me sick to think I might be wasting my time. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Am I S.O.L.?

yeah the way it works or has worked, is that BEFORE you get the CDL permit, you could have things taken off your record......at least the 3 states i deal with....
in any event, maybe one job denial should wake you up to the cold hard facts of your driving habits. i would not stop and say forgedaboudit, but i will say just keep trying. someone should cut you a break. get GREAT grades in school, keep perfect or near perfect attendance as these things show a prospective employer you really wanted to LEARN PROPERLY....
i wish you well, just keep applying, and stay out of anymore trouble.......your personal vehicles or trucks..... -
west valley city is getting another one............................

1 ticket should not be a deal breaker....
Try other companies someone will hire you.

Try swift......there selfinsured so they can take drivers with less then perfect driving records. But thats a BIG ticket, you may have to take a really crappy job for a year, with like Carolina Cargo
