Am I shooting myself in the foot by buying a truck that isn't allowed in California?

They go on the grill on a 379 or 389, but yes it does look quite odd.

Its not just a passenger side. They want 4 mirrors. Onee one each door. And one on each front corner. If you don't have the front two they will offer you. A choice between round or square ones. I know in Indianapolis. The orientation guy Steve keeps them in stock

    Taken directly from Landstar's website.

Does Landstar require an electronic logging device (ELD)?
    Yes.

As long as your tractor has an electronically controlled engine, capable of functioning with an ELD (Electronic Logging Device), it does not need to be any particular make, model, color, or year.

I would strongly advise against buying a truck that is California compliant. The fewer trucks in California, the more loads there are for me to choose from at higher rates. :)

2 things on that 1) there's a app, maybe keep trucking I'm not sure. How ever which ever one it was you could plug into almost any truck. And that was aceptable. But they are making some changes to double check that.
    2) I did not read the paper work. But when I was talking to the recruitor about trucks. I asked the same question. She said 2000 or newer.
How do I find the paper work you have.? Cause I hate giving bad advice.

I got this info from their website .Landstar Trucking — Owner-Operator Requirements.

Mercer told me 2000 and newer also, but send them pic's of my 97 and they might Consider it.

Just unsure about Mercer these days .
