4 companys in 2 years is kind of hard to sneak by.you'll have to keep looking and suck it up if you dont like the one you chose.do your research, dont jump because you want to.you have to make #### sure its a good company.ive been in this 24 years,9 of wich are o/o.the longest i have stayed w/a company is 3.5 years.i wanted to stay there but they closed the doors, nation wide.multiple co. as o/o but thats expected, your in business to make money.i still get over looked because of history.usually for company position.thats the problem w/big companys, they expect the driver to take all their crap, abuse and dispatch ignorance/favoritizm then grin and bear it.good luck:biggrin_25511:

You said about 2 years...which probably means not yet 2 years. So you average less than 6 months at every company you work for. Why would a company want to hire you knowing you will jump ship?

companies spend a lot of money to hire someone. I think i've heard tell it takes at least 9 months to recover the cost of a new hire. Companies do not want to hire job hoppers, cost them too much money. So if you can, try to stick with the next company you get on with for at least a year.

What are you looking for or trying to avoid when you switched employer? If it was me I would try to land a local job or look at smaller outfits.

There are bad companies. But there a whole bunch of companies a drivers attitude can make the company good or bad. A little thing will snowball out of control to the point you get fed up and quit.

All problems are short lived. You are going to have bad days. You are going to sit. Keep that positive attitude and maintain a good work relationship. Especially with your dispatcher. Don't give them a hard time. Don't use them as a punching bag.

Once you show them you are easy to get along with, do the dirty work without complaining, and are dependable, you will find they will start taking care of you. Many bigger companies rank their drivers on the computer like 1-10. Go visit your dispatcher. Ask what you can do to be a better employee. Are you a 9 or a 2? :) Three drivers and two loads in an area, guess who gets the best run? Guess who sits?

The job is what it is. Make the best of it and it gets a whole lot better.

Another bonus is longevity brings new trucks. You quit all the time you always drive junk.

I believe that there are enough drivers out there looking for work, that it makes it a bit tougher to get hired. I think most companies would far rather take a trainee, than a fairly new driver who has a record of going from job to job. You may have to get what you can, and when you do, then STAY PUT until you build up some whiskers there.

Also, maybe you shouldn't be QUITE so GRUMPY!:biggrin_25522:
(Sorry, I just couldn't resist that one.)

Anyway, I wish you luck in your search.:yes2557:

I agree condo with what you said except the part about visiting your dispatcher. Im not going to go in there and kiss my dispatchers young pampered butt. Lol. I get treated with respect by doing my job.

I'm far from a kisser. It helps to put a face with someone you never see. It puts the human factor back into things. A five minute meeting you can find out all kinds of useful info and what goes on behind the scenes. One might think things happen one way when they happen totally a different way. Just one meeting. You don't have to go in there every week! :)

Just like the CB or even in a forum. Some will act a certain way because the face to face factor is missing. You meet them then the idiot type coming across the Qualcomm has a new meaning! :)
