I'd take my hometime somewhere like Indiana or Ohio, rent a car then drive to the Northeast to explore NYC and Long Island. Never in a truck.

I guess that depends on how you define "life." That IS pretty interesting.

You will never see the country from the interstate, except for the ugly part.
You guys should take a load to Alaska once in a while, beautiful scenery and once you get up north a ways you can park a truck anywhere and walk or fish on a mountain stream, or just sit and eat your cheese and crackers.

    HollyRoller and Slowmover1 Thank this.

Don't you need to have a Barrett .50 caliber on you at all times for the grizzlies?

I would LOVE the opportunity to get to go up to Alaska and see some of that beautiful scenery. I'm keeping my fingers crossed somewhere along the way I get to!

I would go crazy being regional dealing with idiot shippers and receivers everyday or so. OTR is where I like to be, long runs out west. I have gotten stuck on the east coast loop a handful of times, it sucks. OTR to me is a more enjoyable lifestyle, local and regional is too much like a job..

Lynden does not run their freight straight through though. it runs to edmonton and taken to beaver creek by canadian trucks. then we pick it back up.
Fairchild uses some extra trucks in the spring when nursery stock is running, your reefer or his.
Landstar brings up quite a few loads.
The last couple of years hot shot express has been running up here fairly often.
Highline huals military household up here on a steady basis.
Hoskins is still running a few oo's back and forth, and I am sure needs extra help around the hollidays.
There is always brokers with loads coming up, but most don't have a clue on a realistic price.
Always get your money coming up, don't let anybody tell you they will load you back out, it AIN'T happening.
If looking at a broker load, make sure where the destination is, many places do not have a road to them, and a lot of brokers don't have a clue and will try to move it on a truck, they are fun to play with.
If you happen to take a load with prudhoe bay for a destination, add 5 grand to what you need to deliver in fairbanks,, especially in winter.

    JC1971 Thanks this.

Is Lynden a difficult company to hire on with? I was looking at that Houston to Edmonton run they have.
