    I figured why reinvent the wheel if it's already been done for a fraction of the cost. Those things are a dime a dozen on eBay. I had one a long time ago and I had no idea what to do with it but I just had an epiphany when I saw one recently.
    Great case design, nice switch, nice cord,
    Circuitry is already there.
    Just needs capsule upgrade and maybe a couple capacitor changes for wider frequency response.

    OK, @rabbiporkchop I give up. Are you suggesting mount that element on the backside and wire it in for noise-rejection purposes?

    Replacing the Shure element with the 100hz-20,000hz element. Fits right inside the case.
