The Indian part of me might explain my skinniness as well. High metabolism and high testosterone runs in my family.

Im prodominately Russian though, so I do love me some alcohol. :)

I have had to think about this for a bit. Are you proportional? Long torso and short legs or short torso and long legs.

Unproportional with a Short torso and longers legs would work best. The closer to the floor the seat has to be, the more it will bottom out. I hate it when it bottoms out.

But 5'4" is not short enough to worry about too much. If your not overweight, the seat won't bottom.out much anyway.

Nah, it ain't 'cause you are SHORT. It's cause you can take it, and give it right back. And you don't really worry too much WHO it is you are giving a hard time to, as certain eagles have found out!:biggrin_25525:

I have longer legs than a torso and my weight is around 135. I just want to be able to see over the steering wheel hahaha and reach the gas pedals and breaks at the same time lol. Ill see very soon but I am confident that I will be able to drive one just fine with all of your guys responses :). Thanks all, I really appreciate it.

I have to say this question made me laugh because I thought the same thing. As a matter of fact, my first day in driving school I asked the instructor if they issued us phone books to sit on since I am vertically challenged. :) I am 5' 1 1/2" tall, and yes, that 1/2 inch counts! The truck seats do adjust several different ways and they are comfortable. I have driven a Freightliner Century and Classic, a Kenworth W900, a Peterbilt 379 and a Mack. I have driven an 8 speed, a 10 speed and a 13 speed and all with no problems. If I can do it, you can do it!

I think it may boil down to some ladies favorite accessory, SHOES.

I'm 5' 17" with 15 u-boats and can have problems with my toe getting hung up under the dash in a car.

For you I see giant wedge heels as the solution. For normal clutching , use the ball of you foot, but for full clutch depressed situations, just slide you your foot up and use the 9-12" extention of the heel (could consider working for a company with automatics in their fleet, but then you might be "cooling your heels" waiting while it's in the shop).

Tarping a flat bed in the wind? Magnet assisted safety toe pumps could do the trick.
As an added bonus, the batteries used to turn the steel toe into an electric magnet, could be used to run the shoe heater feature during the winter months.

    p.s. me spousal-unit is 5' 4"
