Attempted burglary in the 3rd or 3rd felony? You mentioned you were charged, but were you convicted?
-
That was 12 years ago; many companies will hire you.
What state do you live in. Can you afford a private or community college CDL school? -
Call recruiters and tell them your situation before you take the plunge. Don't get discouraged on your first answer

Where I work we have people who have done hard time in prison , they straightened up and are driving
now for a living .
Depends on the company , just ask first . -
Attempted burglary 3rd degree, and 2yrs probation.

I think you'll be ok.
Like Richter said, most companies don't investigate past 10 years.
Everybody deserves a second chance in life in my opinion; unless your a child molester or your Billary Clinton.Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
It would be one thing if you were busted selling crack or if you'd gone Dahmer on someone. But that charge shouldn't make you unemployable. Like said above, call some recruiters, talk to them, see what they say. There'll be a couple companies which say no, but there are plenty of people with convictions in this industry... I'm assuming yours was a felony conviction? It'll mean you can't run Canada or get hazmat, but you can get a job. Best of luck to you.

Jeffrey Dahmer's mother told him she didn't like his childhood friends. So he told her just to eat the salad.
You should always fill out the questionaire exactly like it ask you. Most companies ask you if you have a felony that is less then 10 years old. By that they mean have you gotten off probation or parole within the past 10 years. In my case the answer was yes. But the charge was Child support and that was never a big deal. You were convicted or plead guilty but did probation only. If that probation ended 2004 or before you would answer no to the 10 year felony question. If it was 2005 or later your answer should be yes.
The 3rd burglary degree is A. A person commits burglary in the third degree by:1. Entering or remaining unlawfully in or on a nonresidential structure or in a fenced commercial or residential yard with the intent to commit any theft or any felony therein.
2. Making entry into any part of a motor vehicle by means of a manipulation key or master key, with the intent to commit any theft or felony in the motor vehicle.
B. Burglary in the third degree is a class 4 felony.
I have no problem with working with felons but I also have no problem beating the c r a p out of those who try to steal from me. With that in mind, welcome to trucking.
