I would go with an actual letter from an actual person they can contact. It wouldn't have to be mailed directly, just have their mailing address and contact details at the top etc.
Am I wasting my time?

What about those companies that are basically middlemen? I see advertisements for them all the time. sort of like a temp agency but for trucking.

All you gotta do is do what I did. Make up a fake history with phone numbers for friends who will verify your fake history. It works just fine for me.

This has gone on way to long lol. Have u ever heard the phrase nothing ventured nothing gained. You gotta have some faith and take a step forward and get your license.

Soooo. I may be a tad behind in filing some taxes, however I do have (and have had for the past 7 years) current state and city business license documentation , and getting notarized reference letters from several customers ive had (also for the past 6-7 years)would not be a problem. I guess I just need to call companies I'm interested in to verify what they require? I would be more comfortable sending references then tax info anyways. Any good advice? Thx

Always best to be truthful in all areas of life and on job applications as well as in family court.
You never know when a vindictive ex might try to discredit your honesty and deflect attention from his/her dishonesty by pointing at your "creative resume writing" skills. Fortunately for me, DOT only requires the past 10 years on applications and I can be totally honest on all my job application.
