Probably the JB Hunt thread. Wiseone started the site because of JB Hunt.

If you really want to go back...

The internet features a site called the way back machine. I forget the exact links But some time ago we took a look and realized that everything posted back about the mid 90's had been "Spider-ed, Archived and copied" against the future."

Reading old school netscape navigator based internet, aol or whatever is really painful today. But that's all there.

IT claims in school that the internet will endure for approximately 10,000 years in theory. There is a specific presentation system to make a human comprehensible page or information that is readable from binary on a hard drive somewhere. They think then we would probably be using gems or human DNA to store data availible to all mankind at a moment's recall. But the actual sitting down at a machine and reading forum posts left by however many great generations long before you going back 10K years? Erm, that's probably something that will just have to be dealt with by the children then.

Our own records begin to fail in terms of history in writing before 1880's in wedding certs, before 1600's in bibles and around roughly 1450 or so when anyone bothered to write anything down at all.

Some of you will point out that there are Roman, Greek and other cultural writings and so on left from thousands of years ago, not hundreds. So it's very possible that the Internet will be around that long. What form it will be in? I don't know nor want to.

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

They used to have a lot of stuff from the early to mid-nineties. It’s all gone. Many of the sites I ran are no longer there.
