I have a little insight on this, seeing as I just graduated CDL school, it was only a 240 hour course at a local school. Most of the people in there had no passion for anything, some did'nt even care to bathe regularly. When someone doesn't even take pride in themselves, how can your expect them to take pride in their work? I did make two good freinds out of the ordeal, they had both lost jobs that they had for over twenty years and took good care of themselves and seem to be good people. I personally got into this industry because I grew up around it, my dad drove, both my uncles, my grandpa's, it was something I've always wanted to do. I'm a younger guy, but don't put all of us younger guy's in the same pool. I was taught as I grew up to take pride in anything you do, even if it is cleaning a toliet or making fast food. More people my age, but not limited to that age group, I see plenty of older people that are lazy or slobs also, need to take pride in what they do.

But according to some drivers you can make more working at Burger King than driving trucks!

You mean the " I don't drive more than 500 miles a day" crowd? I don't consider them to be drivers!

    They are steering wheel holders.

guess that means i'm not a steeringwheel holder then cause i'd rather drive 500-600 mi a day.....seeing thats what builds a good paycheck.

By noon? Don't you mean 9AM? As in "truck drivers do more before 9AM than most people do all day".
