Some people want to have a work life balance that allows them to do something other than work. Sure, abandoning the job with no notice is bad, but how else would you expect anything to change when you're polite and give them notice? Sometimes it's about the message you send by quiting on the spot.

No wonder every time I checked my phone for my package status it said, "Out for delivery!"
I worked at UPS as an unloader during the 3 a.m. shift my first year in college. I was required to unload 1200 boxes an hour from those 40-foot trailers. It was insane. I would get home looking like a dirt-ball and would just collapse and sleep on the couch because I couldn't make it to the bed. That's not even Amazon's vehicle. It belongs to some random 3rd party contractor who came to Amazon with a ####tonne of capital and bought their own fleet of pre-branded panel vans, then set to work hiring drivers according to Amazon's standards as opposed to their own...
