I'm sorry, did you reply to the right person? I don't quite see how this pertains to what I said.

I should have cropped the portion of your post I was replying to. My reply was towards your comment on Amazon offering better pay once they get everyone else out. If I read it right my reply just means Amazon is playing the race to the bottom not avoiding it, this would mean they will not ever hire drivers for better pay when there is a glut of minimum wage drivers just doing nothing and need of a job.

Oh no, I never said anything about Amazon paying better once they get everyone else out. In fact, they will probably pay even less once they get everyone else out. Unless they get a union.

Amazon is socialist socially conservative financially. Just like every hippie I know in the weed industry.

I don't even know that Amazon takes a stance on social issues. I think they are just a financial meat grinder.

Not when you look at their financials overall.!
They found a niche in the business model for a new millennial generation. Most Babyboomers and Generation X invididuals would rather go to the store to observe what they are buying on hand & don't care much about burning gas in their vehicles while doing so. Whiles Millennials & Generation Z individuals are most into the technological way of thinking therefore less care to drive to store and rather sit in front of their computer or phone at home ordering things online through Amazon. Numbers speak volumes as they past Walmart who adapted to the similar business model just as many others did or like Sears (Dinosaur stores) simply fell off.

Amazon didn't start over night! And a lot of their studies for shoppers was based on their original business online from the none tangible items such as music sales.

I believed that it was a fad because why would ao much people want to not buy items that they can hold in their hands 1st not having to send back in case it wasn't exactly what they wanted. Yet, a good majority of people still order off of Amazon.

I just can't see them ordering trucks later on in the business of they didn't see some kind of beneficial financial saving overall.?
In any business Money talks & Amazon monopolized the retail business. I don't see why they would open up so much DC's if they were racing to the bottom? If that is valid, we will see them closing within the next year.!

@Trucker K i don’t think we understand each other. With any business once competition is free to open up in any industry a race to the bottom happens, in the end a few are left standing.

Amazon realized this long ago and decided hey why not be efficient at this race and be the ones standing in the end?

since majority of their stuff online isn’t purchased by them and sold by third party retailers they simply don’t care if it sells or not as they haven’t invested capital on it, yes it’s true they have some inventory that’s invested by their own capital but that’s a small percentage.

with that taken into account they are letting their online retailers race to the bottom by undercutting each other.

Well with that Analogy Amazon already won that race years ago from the obvious domination of online retailers.

However, as a Truck driver I wouldn't just leave my city day job and go and work for Amazon unless I did my homework 1st regarding hourly or cpm pay grade (of course it would have to be compareable to the Top Linehaul Carriers), Benefit packages etc.. But I still think Amazon has to be compareable with paying truckers reasonable wages if they want to be efficient for longevity. However, if they begin to dominated the shippijg market with their fleet wages may balance out in comparision amongst the majority of elite carriers.

that’s the thing, they pay somewhere around 15-20 per hour for their employees it doesn’t matter what job they have, could be a yard jockey, could be local or even guard shack. In other words they make everyone get a CDL so they can hop into a tractor and deliver trailers to another DC
