With the grace of God and Fortunately enough to have found this place I have learned so much on how to talk to brokers and lots of other details from maintenance to just driving that made me able to get the rates I want and need to succeed.
Even though I have a truck payment it’s less then a grand a month and it’s not new, which keeps my costs down enough to not haul cheap freight and be able to park and not drive for a few days when rates are bad or until I get a call from a broker offering me what I need.
I just gotta do this for the next five years until i get out of the mess I’m in.
Amazon now a Freight Brokerage, Slashing rates 30% below market nationally.

Ive learned a great deal from TTR regarding Brokering, It is not my strong suit because drivers like me are told absolutely nothing my whole life from companies about brokering etc. So I do a lot of reading and learn here.
I did however run for one company here in Arkansas for less than 12 days before quitting because I signed on to haul cream in tankers, those are 80000 dollar loads. High value in that field. but ended up beating around the carolinas with a broker for a dispatcher with a dry van. My interest and motivation disappeared as it always does with vans.
Nothing wrong with vans but I showed up to do tanker work and still retained my previous milk hauling. The owner of that company failed to employ me properly in that division. So I walked.
The broker as a dispatcher was a most difficult one. I kept my mouth shut but knew that we were not compatible. Not with his Royal Highness George the Big mouth demanding all sorts of things I already know from before.Metallica88 and LoneRanger Thank this. -

My truck is about worn out anyway and I'm definitely not going to buy another truck in this market. If they succeed in killing the freight rates then I'll just say forget it when my insurance comes up for renewal. There's plenty of other things I can do that pay just fine.

Is this the same as the relay board or something totally different ?

We'll probably start hearing lots of stories about Amazon freight brokerage pulling one over on drivers with unexpected 24-48 hours drop destination for the trailer paying zero $ or zero $ for 10hr, 24 hrs, 36hrs loading/unloading delays etc, etc. If you're gonna undercut the competition you gotta go all out and truck driver accessories pay is the easiest and first place to cut.

The thing that could sort this out is Antitrust Law, it's 100% predatory pricing. Amazon is big enough they don't need to make money on this industry, and they benefit from reduced freight costs in the dry van market due to how much shipping they use.
Then again they've used predatory pricing for years in the retail space. The problem is it's hard to prove predatory pricing until they drive all the competition out and start raising prices.
I only ordered like five things from Amazon this week, I'm trying!Thouren and scottied67 Thank this. -

Yeppers, I talked to a buddy yesterday that told me there's a contingency of of East Indian O/O who run May Trucking's freight up and down the I-5 corridor for $0.95 a mile plus FSC.
There's an endless supply of these guys willing to do it I guess.
