I think they said that if people quit their job with Amazon, they will give you a baby up to $10,000 to start a delivery business for Amazon.

So they'want you to quit your job and they'll even give u a little investment so that you can work for nothing...

    How nice of them

So if their rates are so bad, who’s gonna haul it? Seems to Me they’re cutting out the Broker, The Same Broker the Truckers complain about, wanting to cut out of the deal.Who knows a 30% cut in rates without a Broker may still be a better rate for the Truck. I haven’t hauled for Amazon ( yet), the one time I considered it the rate was $5.00 a mile. It will be interesting to watch, though. All the hype is just that. I’ll survive. Always do.

Your last sentence contradicts your first sentence and proves that "letting freight sit" will not improve rates.

From what I've experienced with the lumber mills, you can cut out the broker and they still want to pay the truck what it would normally make after the broker's cut. This might give Amazon some flexibility to pay more every now and then, but they probably don't plan on passing any of those savings to the carrier.

Amazon delivery driver, make from 18 to 25 per hour. Subtract out the vehicle costs and you can work for less than minimum wage...wow...what an opportunity...where do I sign up???
