    Hello everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well!

I recently received a job offer from an Amazon Relay carrier. The position and pay are both solid, and I’ve been told I’ll be running regional routes, primarily heading into New York. My only hesitation is navigating the low-clearance bridges and tight turns common in that area—but aside from that, I’m comfortable with the role.

The partner-owner also mentioned I’ll receive 40 hours of training over three days, which is reassuring. I’m seriously considering accepting the offer, but I’d appreciate your advice—especially on how best to handle the challenges of low bridge clearances and narrow turns. Also is there a GPS would you recommend using? Any guidance would mean a lot!

Does the job pay by W-2 or 1099?

Be careful, even experienced drivers can have problems in NYC
A couple of fender-benders and you'll be unemployed and have serious problems finding another company that will hire you.
You're the boss of your choices, not me. But, I'd recommend running West to get some driving experience before taking a local job running NYC.

Did the guy explain exactly what you'll be doing in NYC?
Is it making multiple stops or just a drop & hook?

Just drop and hook, but I am not going to risk it. I changed my mind. Now it’s either between prime inc or western express to get experience. I am just worried I wouldn’t get good training.

Relay job as in running from DC to DC? Should be the easiest job in the area once you get location and routes programmed to mind.
