I can help a little bit here, I was a local driver for a dedicated outfit that delivered corrigated boxes to American Food Group. ASL is the carrier for them. I can tell you that being a former Packland Transport driver I left in '98 that the core managment and sevice dept. are all former Packerland employee's. I used to know some of the guys in upper managment a few dispatchers and a few guys in the shop. We lost the contract a few fears ago, anyway it seems to me that they have a good thing going and when they merged with another company the name escapes me they have grown alot. As most of the company is o/o and i knew a few of them that they were saying that they are doing better then at Packerland Transport but that was back in the '90s. I believe everybody started to go over to ASL around '96 to '98. They have around 10 or so campany trucks and i have been thinking about giving them a call, i am not a o/o. I am out of work from a rotator cuff sugery and should be able to work again around the end of November. Hope this helps.
