This is a thread from a former driver with ACT. I spent over 8 months with this company as a lease to own driver. During this period I stayed out 12-14 days at a time. The average miles per week for myself was 2200 weekly. This is not refusing any loads and delivering all loads on time. Do not go to this company......you are a company driver with owner operator expenses. You are paying for THEIR TRUCK. You on average making .34-.37 com after expenses. Go and work for a good company as a company driver and not have the headaches, 42-52 month lease payments are going to come out first. Take a couple of days off...no check.

I was making about .53 per mile after expenses before I started recruiting. I am coming back Monday after 11 days off to go on a cruise and I have no recruits I am getting paid on now and I am $760.00 in the hole after the time off. Want to bet I make a check my first week back?

Individual results may vary.

If you pull out of the whole 760 with a truck note of let's say it's 600 then insurance etc misc deductions lets just say your gonna be roughly 1450-1500 in the whole .. Before your mandatory maint account of 0.5-0.7 .
If you were not on the FAVORTISM COMMITY at ACT and you got what 80% of the guys say they get on here at 1800-2300 miles with NO RECRUITS then I bet you'd be singing a different tune as far as pulling out In a week. UNLESS ... You are getting a few extras laid out your way which by following your own testimonials on your thread in which that's your story and I just read and don't say much on .
I find it kinda Odd that if anyone says a negative thing about ACT .. The cheerleader group comes out and try's to stomp a fire out before it rains on a ACT Parade here .
Yes I'll admit 2-3 maybe 4 of you guys at ACT seem to be doing fine and that's GREAT and I for one wish you success .. But when you send in the troops to deminsh each claim about ACT contray to your beliefs or experiences doesn't help your reputation as a creditable source or a non biased report about ACT . To anyone who has read your thread the company ( ACT ) in fact knows your on this forum promoting them and in return feeds you in both 1. Miles 2. Recruits among other things .
Just because a guy or may I say more than 1 guy in the case of ACT Lease Purchase or how ever they swing it or word it .. Does not make it or suffers or losses his or her truck back to ACT because they are not recognized as the new SIBOR RECRUITER for ACT ( Internet ) then that does not make them .. 1. Liars 2. Quitters it makes them people with a story they need to tell just like you do on this forum and their story should be taken no less than yours and given as a account for a person to be able to make a evaluation of ACT as a perspective company .
I don't think that the OP came to your Thread to make claims or rain on your PEP RALLEY did he ? ( I could be wrong )
I think that everyone should be able to evaluate a company based on both GOOD and BAD information don't you think ? If the grass is really THAT GREEN at ACT they sure could save about 7,000-10,000 or more a month in recruiting materials ( prob more ) cause no one would ever leave and it would be the UPS & Wal-Mart Private Fleets of trucking and lets face the facts ACT is not the GOLD Standard by far .. It may work for some but not for otherssewerman Thanks this. -
Man, you said a mouthful. Sad to say you are correct. How is that the fleet average is 2200-2350...and guys are getting 4000 in 8 days? Those are not my numbers. Is it really worth to run someone's else truck for a paycheck of $850 if you are lucky? Without benefits......I tried, to those that make it, have at it.

Its not rocket science to know that it's cheaper to fill a seat with a 1099 vs a W-2 any way you slice it or dice it . That's why when you go to orientation and I did at ACT you can come in as a Prehired Co Driver but then they take you aside ( or the CO guys ) and take u in the special room well the same orientation room and tell you how RICH you'll be leasing that truck from them ... ?
Its code for : make us money or save us money take our new truck off our hands .. And is why I left during orientation .. -

Well BIGKID2 lets be honest here ok .!st of all 8 loads in 8 days before vacation and a day off to boot . I personnally think it had nothing to do with knowing the system. Had alot to do with your DM loking after you. I wonder how many time i sat over the weekend . So you can have your preplan . Thats not cool. Atleast give me the bird when you leave town . You have no idea how many time on saturday i was told there are no loads . Then come monday there still isnt any loads . And im sitting in Kansas Illinois cpl times. No wonder we have a turnover thru the roof
I also believe your smart enough to log 65 when actually your doing 55. So are you really taking a 10hr break.
4100/6.5 days (1.5 days at house) = 630mi a day . This didnt happen by accident it happened by design . No wonder we got a turnover.
I cant wait till they put everybody on elogs personnally. Because the avg elog drivers gets 2100 2500 a week thats how the program works its all computer generated to be company efficient. But not always drivers friendly . This will level the playing field.
Im currently avg .40mile on my lease (thats not including payroll tax). So basically my take home is company pay. But im good with that. As long as i get the truck . My maint covers my repairs . Got the truck with a vibration so far i got 3000 .oo in parts still vibrates, but my maint allows me to keep working at it without it putting me in the hole. Hopefully ill get it figured out .
Wish i had some cash to throw at my DM wouldnt mind going to Hawaii for my vacation. See ya dogs later . Keep it real .US MARINE Thanks this. -
