American central transport (lease)

    Delivered my drop hook this morning. Got another load assignment 1004 loaded 81 Empty load pays 1399.98. Delivers Monday.

    Also got a choice of loads cpl hrs later 1. 137 mi 65 empty 2. 157mi 65 empty 3. 380mi 20 empty. loads 1,2 pick up Sunday load 3 picks up Monday . I took the most miles 380. after fuel not sure what i will make on it . but this 4th load out of 6 with less than 500loaded . Not good . Hope it had nothing to do with my new DM today . Other retired.

    This is perfect example why drivers refuse loads im stuck with these choices otherwise i wont recieve deadhead for next load.

    So there you go just because you have choices doesnt mean you'll make money on those choices. See what happens . Make best of it.

    I dont call dispatch that much but when i do seems like there always somebody new answering the phone. Distrubing say the least.

    I delivered my load saturday night 1.5 days early. I'll use this load to start my new week after fuel i made 1075.00 on the load thats a good start on revenue to start the week out. The 3 load offer they gave me I threw them back in the pond. I gotta have something else . So they gave me a Monday pick up with 488 mi that delivers Tue instead.

    Total Fixed Expenses 3035.00(.38mile)
    Total Expenses 7171.00(90.mile)

    Net Income .46mile

    Those numbers are based on Loaded and Empty Miles ACTUAL miles on odometer not included . But regardless Fuel spent on the difference is a key factor when keeping cost down. Some of those miles are deadheading Home which arent paid unless you are dispatched on a load running thru house . Wrong turns . Running out of the way for cheaper fuel .And Short paid miles per dispatch

    Been a week since last post ,alot has happened , I took my load of 1004 miles that i delivered early last Saturday and held that load back. In other words i didnt turn it in at the end of payroll deadline which is Monday midnight. I basically used it as my first load delivered for a new pay period So Monday march 2 was the beginning of a new payweek for me .

    On that run of 1004 miles 81 Empty I spent 338.01 on fuel my Revenue on that was 1070.95 not bad. Then i went home to do a 34reset. I was preplanned on another load 488miles that delivered on Tuesday , but i ended up sick Sunday so i called in they took me off the load. Monday afternoon i felt better they dispatched me on a load 1348 miles 148 Empty so i went to the shipper and the load wasnt there . So dispatch had me sit till morning until the load planners could figure out what happened.

    Next morning the load planners told me load cancelled OK . Next preplan 751mi 401 Empty (actual Mt was 253mi but they added the 148 from previous load that cancelled to next load plus 350.00 detention for waiting all day ) That load paid 1445.47 Spent 450.30 on Fuel Revenue 995.17

    So On Wed i had a total of 2416.12 of Revenue after fuel expenses. My fixed cost on this lease is 693.00 plus .07 mile (2237 total miles) =
    693.00+156.59=849.59 So total Revenue after Fuel 2416.12 - 849.59 = 1566.41 Im happy with that paycheck and its Wednesday.

    Now with that paycheck i can continue to run the rest of the week and have a bigger paycheck but whats the point Uncle Sam and State are gonna get 28% anyways. So what i do is cut off my payroll for the rest of the week this why i keep track of my paycheck as i go per load ,its also the reason why i run based on revenue made on the load not how many miles i run for the week.

    Any loads i pull after Wed since thats the day i cut off my check of 1566. Is the beginning of a new pay week for me . It gives me alot of options i can buy fuel whenever i want and as much as i want. Pull any load i want rather i make money on it or not (reposition for a better freight lane) If i have a break down im way ahead of payroll i can afford to sit and it wont hurt me plus i get to decide when and where i wanna take a 34.

    If you notice last week i went home for 10 days never missed a truck payment had a paycheck even when i left the house . Payroll wants you to turn in your loads after delivery but all you gotta do is make a note on the cover sheet to hold a load and put the payroll week ending in the comments sometimes they miss the note . Now you gotta start over

    I been doing this for 3 yrs I never missed a Full truck payment yet and I have had some major Mechanical issues Rearend Clutch lots of Dpf issue Turbo . it works for me and thats what matters .

    So Thursday i get a load 418miles 0 empty This will be the beginning of another pay period as i do it. When i hit 2000.00 in revenue after fuel expenses im done I dont want a bigger check sometime I see what my check is and Ill drop some of it in fuel before my Mt call , because fuel purchases follow the load lowers my taxable income . I delivered that load on Thursday same day as i got it spent 200.01 on fuel Made 343.39 on the load

    Next load I picked up Friday 1063 loaded 49 Mt delivers Monday . Haul ##### do another 34 This load pay 1439.23 i spent 583.08 on Fuel . Revenue made 904.84.

    So if you take the load i held back to start another payroll 343.39 + 904.84= 1248.23 Ill have on Monday and i dont have to turn it in because my check is already 1566.00 I keep rolling these loads over eventually at the end of the month ill go home another 10days or 5 whatever . The Idea here is to get ahead of the pay weeks because you never now if your gonna breakdown or just have a bad week . Either way it doesnt matter your ahead . You can recoup later and it wont hurt you .

    Its Sunday night load delivers in the morning Ill have 1248.23 in revenue on a new pay week . And ill have a 34 completed doesnt get much better than that .

    For the Cummins enthusiast which is what i have Rawze.com good discussion forum learn how to take care of your truck. Alot of things we pay 100s for we can do for far less with simple tools

    1 more thing then i gotta go. I saw a Bumper sticker said "WE USE TO HAVE REAGAN JOHHNY CASH AND BOB HOPE" " NOW WE HAVE OBAMA NO CASH NO HOPE" LOL

    Preplan on another load 1329 loaded 224 empty. picksup Monday delivers Thursday. load pays
    2005.31 . Good load and it weighs 8000# see ya Thursday

    Here i am again . not much going on stayg busy. Been at the house for a week . Going back out today held a load back why i was home 316.00 in revenue to start my week on a load now 550 loaded light load . starting out with 1/2 tank fuel so will make good revenue on this load . load delivers Tuesday

    Had a preplan for the weekend that cancelled for a Sunday delivery. Now im doing a load For a Tuesday delivery 779 mi today is Saturday . Not sure if there enough time to deliver this load 779 mi in 4 days is pushing it .
