My experience is as such:
First OTR job. Training is following a vet seeing how you drive. Their trucks are not governed so running 700 plus miles a day is easy depending were your at. Travis and Vanessa and Tiara in Dispatch were always very nice and helpful with anything. Travis would always help if I was in a pinch and was my go to for the first couple weeks. Brax and Mike run the show. Brax is OK, piss him off might as well turn your keys in. He gets agitated quick and wants his way. Not a bad guy at all, just how he is. Mike is a dick. Straight up no hiding it, he is in with the owners right hand man and once he takes fully over that place is done. I hope he reads this. I avoided Mike like the plague.
The runs are 90 percent drop and hook. I pissed them off so last few weeks I've had live loads mixed with short runs. They say they are non forced dispatch. But they call you and tell you when your leaving. Not a bad thing, just not what I signed up for. Logistically it's run decent. Like I said, they have a lot of loyal AFW drivers but I was done playing along. I broke down a total of 10 days in a 60 day period. I sat in a motel in Memphis for 5 days over Christmas because they would not send me home. It's always the same old youll get a new truck soon story. Mechanics there....ha if you call them that. Paul in Thornton is about the only guy you wanna deal with. Wyatt is a jerk. Never had any issues with Paul. Overall AFW has been a decent start. Any questions I'd be happy to answer them.
