You gotta love the pure unadulterated ignorance of some Americans, probably the reason that some people think Europe is civilized is because Europe has higher social indicators like life expectancy, lower homicide rate, teen pregnancy, education levels ect. But yeah europeans are stuck in the 18th century, our architecture may be old whats your excuse?

P.S. Tea and crumpets is England not all Europe you dullard.

    Don't get me wrong......
    I have lived in Europe.....
    Great food....
    Great drink....
and if you stay far away from the big cities...Great People as well...

But there are many reason why Europeans packed themselves into tiny ships and made the journey across "The Pond".....

But to our new found citizens...instead of bashing your new home on this board..I would suggest you remember why you crossed "The Pond", the deserts, the Rio Grande, or came here packed in a container from God knows where....

Yup agreed there where reasons when both the US and Europe were vastly different places and still reasons now why one might travel either way.

Didn't see anyone bashing their new home, I personally had a go at someone making a fatuous statement about Europe, a bit like saying Baltimore is ####e so all of America is ####e. Since coming to he US i have done my best to educate myself on the political system and the history, extremely interesting to me personally but also as a courtesy to living here. Which is why i won't make in depth political comments concerning the US, because i know little about it, I would suggest others don't make negative comments about places they know #### all about.

The funny thing about our political system is that many from the European Parliament are warning us here in the states that we are becoming Europe "light..."

Daniel Hannan has made this his life's mission.....

He knows more about the American political system than most of our own members of congress....

    Ok...this isn't the politics section......:biggrin_2559:

Well i guess the US is in the enviable position of having formed its government fairly recently and was the first country (i think) to have a constitution. Have to admit the founding fathers did a fine job and yes i think a lot of the world does try to emulate the political system here.

On the thread topic, I am very keen to drive US trucks in the very near future and very interested to see how they drive compared to our Euro cab overs. Tell you what would be good to see, Scania make a US long nose truck for the market here. I will have to get used to a few differences, sliding tandems, non synchro box (but i drove crash boxes in the military) and of course the extra 8ft on the trailer and extra tractor length. Having a nice big bed will be nice, you guys think your cramped here you should see the bunk in a scania lol.
