America's dairy farms disappearing amid rising costs, pricing issues

The family we buy our fresh eggs from, years ago they were in the dairy business, the State(Texas) and county chased all the dairy farms out of the area. The claim was dairy farming required too much fresh water.

 

I see Holstein’s, maybe Brown Swiss and an Ayrshire?

 

No brown swiss , gurnsey or jersey , its small i think gurnsey

@3.29 for a gallon in my area. Milk hasnt went up like everything else.

 

Maybe so, but I think ours laugh at us pretty often.

 

I skimmed through the story ( no pun intended). It's sad but there's still milk to haul at least.

 

Really? I'm paying $3.89/gal for store brand.

 

There's less machinery involved with beef.
BTW anyone notice that chic fil a's cows are fairy cows?
