    Hey all!

I had my cb system set up with an amp and swr meter inline in my old vehicle. Due to getting a new vehicle I am about to re set it all up. Originally I had my amp in the cab with me running power directly to the battery with a 3ft coax between my amp and my cb. I've heard of people doing the opposite having a short power cable with the amp mounted near the battery with a longer coax between the amp and cb. My question is what is the best way to run it? I have the know how to wire a power switch inside my cab.

Amps can have unpredictable impedance on their inputs, especially those with power level switches, and may show a not-perfect SWR. For this reason, a randomly long piece of coax adds to the uncertainty and can magnify the otherwise small problem. A short jumper like 3 FT is best.
