True, but not all handguns are created equal.

I've run a couple thousand rounds through my EDC. I use full pop cans for targets and can reliably hit them at 25 yards. Practice, practice, practice until it becomes muscle memory.

That being said, anyone who who needs a dose of lead is going to be a lot closer than that--probably within arms reach.

Back in the day, before most everyone carried cards, those who were street wise carried large bills in one pocket and small bills in another. (1) In case you're robbed just hand over the small bills. (2) When checking out at any cash register, I have a money clip, you're not showing all you've got. Otherwise, end up leaving the store and won't make it 2 city blocks. NOTE: I'm old school. Still scratch my head when I see folks fan out (flash) $300 to buy a pack of gum. Stay woke!

    I love the paranoimia.
All the talk about personal safety and why to carry a firearm.

I'm 61 years old, and have never felt the actual need to have a gun for personal protection.
Even when I was working security with the Santa Clara Transit District back in the day, and when weapons have been drawn against me. (Bay Area, San Jose, CA, in case you are not familiar with it.)
I did carry a gun in that job, but it was never drawn - even when a weapon was drawn against me.

Maybe I am just too scary with a look from just my eyes?
Because that is what has gotten me out of every situation.
I simply stare them down, and by my look just DARE them to make the first move.

They were always afraid, as most are when committing a crime.
Me? I simply knew that I would end it in my favor. End of story.

But being a truck driver is in no way even a close comparison to the danger.
I have never felt threatened out here in any way.

Not sure what all the tough guys have said, but this is my resolve: Kubaton.

I'm coming after your eyes if you want to fight. I don't need a gun....... but you will.

I'm 52 and have never been in an accident. I still wear a seatbelt.

I've never had a fire that needed my fire extinguisher.

My house has never been blown away by a tornado but I still carry insurance.

I am a skinny, nerdy looking guy and I HAVE been in situations where things might have turned out for the worse if I wasn't armed.

I'd rather drop my house insurance than to go unarmed. At least I could eventually buy another house.

It takes two to fight. If one does not show up at all, the situation cannot be developed by the aggessor. There are any number of S/D possibilities. Coffee, Pens, belt, etc etc no limit. Ive gotten older and somewhat slowe so I am a liability myself in a fight these days. Which is where the colt comes in. God made man, but Colt equalizes all Men.
