SSB,
I love the way that you are making your followers guess where you will be going to end up. I hope that when you reveal the final company the crowd will rejoice and keep reading your posts. I can't wait for the new title to your journey. Give em hell!Dale thompson, supersnackbar, Lonesome and 4 others Thank this. -

The truck itself is very comfortable. I average 23mpg on the freeway and 14 in town, but everything is stop and go in my area. When I lived in the country it never dropped below 16.
The power is pretty peppy. The backup camera is straight out of the 90's. Its so bad, its cute. It doesnt depreciate as bad as the rest of the Nissan line up. I dont like how far they dip the front end on them, but thats me. I like stuff level. It handles really well. I never really challenged it off-road, but it never had me worried. I would NEVER pay msrp for one though.
There have been some transmission issues and drive line issues, and a few water pump complaints. But nothing wide spread. The steering on the things is very heavy. I drive truck for a living, so I dont notice it, but my 98 Ram is easier to steer. And the Frontier has a MASSIVE turn radius that is worse than my Rams. There have been concerns about it being direct injected. Not sure why.
With the 2025, they brought back the 6 foot bed. They also changed the nose and I hate it. They did some minor interior changes, but nothing to drastic. Its a good midsize and I'd buy it before any of the others. I love Tacomas and had a 2004. I cant fit in the past 2 gens. It just felt odd. But I havent been in the current one either.
It has been rumored that Nissan may be working on a 4 banger turbo. The HP and torque number that Ford and GM are pushing with their top trim trucks is just too high to ignore. For only several grand more than a fully loaded PRO4-X, you could get a Ranger Raptor with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 with 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque versus the Frontiers with 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque.
Long story short.......
Yes, I like it. BUT We don't know if its going to be as reliable as the 4.0 in the 2005-2018 Frontiers. They rand the engine and transmission in the old bodystyle for 2 years before they brought out the new body style, so there should be quite a few trucks hitting 100k soon. Haven't heard to many complaints about the high mileage trucks yet. I very much wish they would bring back the Xterra using this platform.Gearjammin' Penguin and cdavis188 Thank this. -
