An old man's career goes flat, Snackbar moves to open deck

Went back to one place I quit. Been there about 5 years, couldn't stand the shipping supervisor, and one of the other drivers. I could handle one, or the other, but not both.

A few years later, the senior driver there, who I was still friends with, asked me to come back. Both dingdongs had left, and it was once again a decent place. That lasted about 6 years, then the place was sold to a guy who was more interested in cost cutting, than anything else.

 

As of now there are 3-4 places I wouldn’t go back to work at. The last one especially, since I was “escorted” off the property. XPO.

if I had to go back otr trucking I’d pick Holland, S&S or FCC.

I priced a Yukon Denali for the heck of it, I’d almost need a second mortgage to afford that thing.

 

I sure as hell wish our hero SSB would break the news as to where he’s at. The anticipation is killing me. I was thinking he might have went back to Shaffer, but now I almost wonder if it isn’t Holland or something more long haul. I’m still thinking reefer, but I suppose it’s anyone’s guess.

 

I read on another thread this morning that he was talking about road closures west of Lincoln Ne. I’d bet he’s back at Shaffer.

No way he went to Holland. Their pay is too low.
