And nobody monitors cameras. The only time cameras get looked at is if somebody did something really stupid.
Where I would personally get upset, is someone driving around, watching me do the hook, or unhook, and "making sure" I do it the way some committee has decided it needs to be done.
Same thing I heard at a job a few years ago. They installed inward cameras, but were told "oh no one looks at those", until a shipping lead showed me a website where every driver had their face with usually a stupid expression on it. One woman who drove for us was constantly being harassed, because she rolled a stop sign a few times, in a customers complex, where even the customers vehicles never fully stopped. If the ability is there, you know darn well that someone is going to take advantage of it.
I've seen that once in the 9 months I've been here and don't lose any sleep over it. The hand wringing over it is way overhyped. These are not things decided by a committee. Doing a proper pre-trip and post trip is your job. Not getting in a hurry and cranking the landing gear without hurting yourself is also smart. Kind of common sense stuff. Just do your job and it's laid back easy going. No chasing miles, no chasing money. Plenty of work and no need to get in a hurry. Saftey isn't just a word either like it is everywhere else. Some people can't deal with that or have an axe to grind. That's cool, knock yourself out.
Everybody is busy working and nobody has time for that. But yeah if you run over something they're going to look at videos.
no need to, ain't there anymore. That was one of many straws that finally , shall we say...."broke the camels back"...
