I went from Illinois to North Carolina, took some communications tower stuff. Got 12 load offers, I took another load of reels to Iowa. I'm loving this job. I love the kinds of freight we haul, also having many choices where to run. Still learning where to run, like where we have good freight and no freight. Will updat again soon.

Money figures?

I pay about $753 a week for truck and insurance, and whatever. I also pay $75 a week escrow. Maintenance is .028 cpm. I may be forgetting something. I always figure about $1000 a week comes out, then fuel, of course. I do ok, I'm still learning where to run, so I expect my money to get a lot better. I haven't went in the hole, not even close. I only had 2 paychecks so far. I'm not going to disclose my take home pay, that's personal. I really don't see a need to. I'm not a recruiter. I'm just telling how I'm doing here. Sorry, if that is not what anyone is looking for. What I make is going to be different from someone else. I'll update what is happening though. I'm on my way out to Portland,Or. Load of steel building parts. I hope everyone is staying safe and warm.

When I have time, I will post my average per mile. I just want to have like a monthly average.

Redeye, shoot me a PM. I am thinking about going to work for ATS. I have a background in windmill components and RGN so that is why I am interested in them. I have some questions for you and figured talking to someone who drives for them would be a good start to finding out what I want to know. I was contemplating the lease program, but I think I will go in as a company guy first and see whats up before ponying up the down for a 4 axle Pete.
Airborne Thanks this. -
I made it in and out of Portland, Or. Picked up a rgn trailer in our yard in Washington. Not sure the name of the town. South of Seattle. Anyway ,I got a electrical motor, I'm going to Tulsa,Ok. I will never go to the nw in the winter again, I'm so ready for spring! I picked up in Paterson, wa , 17,000 lbs. Pays 1.46 to the truck. Not bad for the nw.
Airborne Thanks this. -
Keep up the threads man. I just started with Lone Star. But I really would like to be an Owner Operator again, perhaps lease, if I can't get enough money for a down payment this year. I am curious about ATS, but have heard negative stuff about them.
redeye7174 and lee2442 Thank this. -
Redeye, I don't have enough posts to send a pm back. It's all good. Just wanted to see what your overall feelings were and ask what you've heard from other drivers there. I submitted my app as a company guy because I wasn't ready to fork over $5,000-8,000 for the 4 year mandatory lease on the 4 axles. So for now company it'll be to see what I think of them. I've not heard anything bad about ATS. However I've heard a lot of bad about some drivers to the point of a few being compared to Swift hands. Low blow I know, but everybody has a couple knuckleheads. I plan to follow your posts and see where it goes for me. Good luck.

I did pm you, I love it here. I haven't talked to any of our drivers out here on the road, or been around any. Me personally, I take take a whole lot of stock in what a driver tells me about anything, to many stories. Lol. I did talk to one driver, he had been here 20 something years, I quess that tells you something. I almost forgot about him. That's a lot of money down to take a chance, I don't plan on ever leaving here myself. I want to work my way up into heavy haul. I really hope everything works out good for you.
