Why not move out of wherever you are now, put your stuff in storage, and have your wife ride as a passenger until you figure out the next move? Do they not allow riders? Are the trucks even specd to live in?
Does the company have other positions that are more long haul where you can stay out for 2+ weeks at a time? I just saw on their website that they have something called Regional Line Haul. Do you know what that is?
Do they have driver facing cameras in the trucks?

    atruckr Thanks this.

Thanks for the suggestion. We thought of that but Ashley is not set up that way. We can only have ride alongs from April to October. Plus my wife works.

Trucks are spec for living. Fridge and inverters.

Typically home every weekend I can run out for a couple of weeks, when I ask, but it's not a normal position.

The regional line haul I believe is on the Wilson logistics side they bought out a little while ago and not sure how that works. But, from what I understand it's more like the traditional otr position, paid by the mile.

I would contact the recruiter for more info on the otr regional positions. I'm really not sure about that one.

This last week was mostly normal runs. Took a relay up to Lathrop ca. Dropped. Grabbed an empty and Deadheaded back.

Then grabbed another load and delivered that in Yuma AZ at a furniture store. Furniture store loads pays us a little more, so we like those :D

Deadheaded back and grabbed another relay to Lathrop ca. Dropped, deadheaded back and then went home.

Using a sick day and taking off Monday for a dentist appointment plus wanted to get some things done around the house.

    Truck on..

Thanks. Do you happen to know if they have team positions for dedicated linehaul?

Since you're out of Victorville, how often do you do L.A. driving?

    atruckr Thanks this.

    Hey Smokey .
Basically for personal reasons. More money, health insurance for my wife at a cheaper cost, Retirement (I see ShipEX has 401k now but not when I was there), home every weekend.

So many pluses for me I could not, not make the move, if you know what I mean. Since I came over here we also got a raise. I am now making $30,000 + more here than at ShipEX and home every weekend, except when I ask to take a long haul.

We Seldom go into the basin LA area. I run out of Colton and Redlands CA to Lathrop ca, Reno, Arizona, Colorado and sometimes Washington.

We use to take back hauls occasionally into Carson or LA, but they stopped having us do that. Usually we relay backhauls into Colton ca. Once or twice a year I have gone down to San Diego.

This week I took Monday off to get some things done around the house and see the dentist .

Been here at Ashley over 2 years now so I have 2 weeks vacation available, plus 5 sick days. Might as well use it when needed.

So Tuesday they sent me up to Sparks Nevada with a relay and deadhead back. Then after that grabbed another relay to Lathrop and now headed back on an empty. Once I drop that it's time to go home again :D

Here's a short snap shot of the view up 395. Lots of snow this year.

    Keep on keeping on!

Wow so you take the 395 up to Reno. That must be pretty nice. No donner pass and no central valley.

    btw, do you fingerprint freight?
