this is a update to my last post on 7/27/13...i returned to andrus transportation in sept and was welcomed with open arms and their has been alot of changes! I hope my last post did not leave a negative taste in anyone's mouth because that was not my attention! I must say i might have been premature in some areas like low miles, in fact, the miles are fairly consistant! With any company, there will be week that are high and weeks that are low...in fairness 2300-2800 miles a week is the average. The first change is they do offer direct deposit thru a comdata mastercard and you just set it up online! Second, all trucks have prepass! There fleet consists of new volvos and freightliners. Lots of new trailers and the maintain the older ones very well! They also have been making a huge effort of making alot of the fleet dedicated runs which i am currently run now and absolutely love it! People in the trucking will say all trucking is the same, just a different name on the door...well, that is true in alot of ways but i would have to say andrus is not that way at all when it comes to how they treat the drivers, dispatchers etc! I am pleased and honored to call myself an andrus employee and hope to make this my last career choice as far as trucking! I am here for the long haul and alot of that has to do with how they treat me, how they make it a priority to make sure you have a home life. My biggest issue is other companies acted like they owned you and that your life should revolve around the truck, road etc...but not in this case! If anyone reads this wondering if andrus is a good choice...i would absolutely, without question say go for it! It's nice to have a life balance again with home life and a career i truly love to do and andrus gave that to me and my kids again! Thank you andrus transportation!!

They don't pay anything. .305 a mile is no money. That's not worth getting up in the morning for.

That is the base and you get a raise after 1 year, you get idle bonus weekly which accounts for .2 cents plus mileage bonus as well which pays out monthly...your home every 7-10 days and if you have a dedicated run with them like me, you can be home every night and off weekends... Andrus has treated me better than any other company I have dealt with..I have made more cpm at other gigs but after everything, it all amounts to about the same!

Stay away Jimmy A. Is a crackpot and that company is no good. My nephew drove there for 4 months and couldn't stand it.

Would you care to add to this at all? How is Jim Andrus a crackpot? How about some examples. . .

I said in another forum that I fell for their one big happy family BS. Why cant they have direct deposit to your bank, because they are so tight they don't want the money they need to make weekly payroll just sitting in the bank. No instead Jims wife takes the checks to the bank and deposits the money to your account. They tell you that she will do it in the morning but she never makes it till the afternoon so then you don't get paid till the next day. Who wants to work for a company that gives you a 2 cent a mile idle bonus, And the trucks don't have bunk heaters. So in other words if your willing to freeze or cook in the heat Andrus will be more than happy to give you that bonus. Lets not forget how they run their equipment in the ground I drove a truck that had 1.4 million on it and it needed a gallon of oil every other time you filled up the fuel tanks. I would write it up and they would steam clean the bottom of the engine and send me on my way yeah they fixed that

I must apologize I read on another thread that Mrs, Andrus is no longer in charge of payroll and they have bunk heaters in all the trucks now

Thanks Feedlebum. Your posts make much more since than just a blanket statement saying what a crackpot Jim Andrus is. I've met the man a few times, but don't know him well, and it was a lot of years ago. He just did not strike me as being a crackpot. Just another Utah businessman.
