We have always had a few drivers that refuse to chain so some of us have to take the loads over the hills
I think it sucks and they should move down south

I spent 4 years at Marten and over all it is a good company. But they like to keep you're rear end in the seat. Regional hometime out in the west is usually 34 hours after staying out 10-14 days. At least thats the way it was for me back in 2012.

I never said they were good. I said they dont force chain and 70 over vail was banned in bad weather. I dont care if they were or are good. Wait, if they were so good, why arent you still there? This thread is about op looking for a company that doesnt chain up not about marten being a great place to work. Never worked there nor do I ever plan to

Lots of times, chaining is necessary only because road is still iced up and temp is down. The storm is gone and the sun is shining. So you chain for 50 mi to get unloaded THAT day, instead of waiting out the weekend 10 mi from consignee, right ?

Common sense will get you nowhere with the anti-chain crowd.
