Is that so you can talk? Or not worry about the big mouth sitting in the row behind you? LOL It is just so much cheaper, and you can pause or rewind if you need to do something... You just never know what somebody will do any more in public... I like to go see a movie if I think it is worth my money, but they are few and far between.
Well... that gun could use a silencer, that's for sure. Friday, my dad and I set up a little shooting range in my back yard so I could try out his Kel-Tec .380I'm thinking about getting a couple for my wife and me. I remarked on the way out back that I should probably grab my ear muffs... dad says, "Nahh, it's not that loud." A couple magazines later, I'm deaf in my right ear, lol. I shoulda knew better! My ears are still ringing today.
I always wear ear protection while target practicing. Even with my .17 and .22. I'm trying to protect what little I have left.
HeY Brick! How do you like that .17? What kind of velocities does it pump out? Do you reload .17, and if so, are those little pills hard to hold onto when seating them? These daze, with many folks goin' bigger, I think goin' smaller would be interesting.
I guess I should have looked before I posted... double posted because my wife called JUST as I hit the "Submit" button and disconnected me from the net. I thought the other post didn't make it. Not good news from the home front however. Some drunken redneck not only pulled into our driveway, but all the way out in our back yard... and was trying to hide his truck down in the woods'asked her if she could help him out to hide from the cops (who were down the hill attending to a rollover accident). She certainly wasn't expecting to see somebody parked out in the trees. I told her not to walk out the door at night anymore without the shotgun... this kinda crap has been happening way too much lately around our house.
I like the .17 next to nothing for recoil, and not much louder than a .22 Its a pretty strong and lethal round on prairie dogs. 125 to 150 yrds is within that caliber's kill zone. I've had guys say they shoot coyotes with em. Small hole in the pelt for those that want the skin. The .17 is a rim fire cartridge. I don't think you can reload rim fires. I can't tell you off the top of my head the FPS. If you look at Cabela's site you should be able to find that. It runs in my head about 2250 fps but don't hold me to that number.
Thanks to eight years of running air hammers at GMeven with ear protectionmy hearing is not quite what it used to be. I definitely should have known better... my .22 mag even pretty loud.
