Too funny!!

Does anyone know if the shop can lower the volume on "Following Distance Warning"
It is so loud, that it just stresses and pisses a driver off.
You get the same stupid loud chirp if you don't wear your seat belt, engine idle shutdown etc.
The truck would be great if they could just lower the volume of the stupid chirp.
Sounds like when the battery goes dead in you smoke detector.
ANNOYING!!!!!!T.Rucker Thanks this. -
braceface Thanks this.

I’m twitching just after reading this thread.
JOHNQPUBLIC, T.Rucker and jason6541 Thank this. -
My penske mechanic ssid the speaker for the beeps was soldered to a circuit board. So there is no wire that can be disconnected or cut. And destroying the speaker might ruin the whole board. I havent verified this yet. I plan to contact freightliner directly.
-
That’s so you can’t just turn the radio up and tune it out. -
Alot of guys I know duct tape the speakers on the doors..
One guy tapes sound deading material over the speakers.
You can still hear the radio from the sleeper speakers.
The extreme volume is the problem, not neccesarily the beeps themselves.
Obviously the people that design this annoyance into truck, don't drive then.9691Guido Thanks this. -
Install a switchBot to do 2 consecutive pressings every 13 minutes on your LDW OFF
-
That LDW dosen't bother like the seat belt beep, and the following distance beep.
I push it every 15 minutes.
The tape over the passenger door speaker mutes the noise.
