Hello again, everyone. Ok, so I posted before about my 6nz cutting out after start up. Basically, it fires up just fine, runs for a few seconds, cuts out, then right before it dies completely it catches itself and runs great. No codes. I've checked the fuel pressure, wiring, everything. I've replaced the ignition, cam, crank, water, manifold, oil, fuel, intake temp sensors as well as the injector harness and the harness from the sensors to the ECM. Also put on a new fuel pump. Ran a new power wire to the ecm with an in line fuse. The other day I put one of my drivers in it and sent him on his way. He got 5 miles down the road, the truck died. He restarted it and it died again. We couldn't keep it running for more than 10 seconds. No codes, all gauges read normal. Got a new ECM, had it programmed and put it on. Truck fired right up. Drove it around, let it run for 90 minutes or so. Perfect. Parked it, lubed it and put steer brakes on it. Fired it up again, ran for a few seconds and stumbled again just like it did before. It didn't completely shut off, but obviously there is still a gremlin in this #### thing....

Pop up the dash and check if all the wires tight ... especially on the starter ....I had similar issue

Oxbow Thanks this.

Collapsing fuel line possibly.

A loose harness under the hood? If it dies while driving, my guess would be the bouncing makes something move and kill the ignition.

The ecm also gets switched power from the fuse panel also. If that circuit gets interrupted its the same as turning tge ket off. No codes no nothing. A sharp mechanic/dealer will have a schematic to find the wires on the ecm plug and the truck plug. Good luck

it is your camshaft sensor, mine was doing the same thing. it will cut out until the crankshaft sensor takes over and that's why it fires back up just before stalling. I just noticed you have replaced that sensor already? maybe check the wiring from the sensor to ECU

Bad ECM. Very common on a CAT Adem 120 pin ECM. It will progressively start happening more often if given more time.
Oxbow and KittyKicker Thank this.
