That makes sense. I just didn't know if that was normal practice to reset it.

No news from the dealer on the petcock that is leaking and if they have located the part to get it shipped in. But, I did get to speak with my SFI rep about the issue this morning, since this was an issue that I called out numerous times during the entire process, they are going to cover that part of the repair at 100 percent. They are also going to waive my payment for next week since the truck is going to be in the shop for a couple of days waiting for the parts.

For those of you thinking about going with SFI let's be clear on how you accomplish getting them to do things like this. One word "Communication". Not ranting at them about things, but an open dialogue with your rep. They can and will work with you to get issues resolved. I personally cannot ask for better service from them. From the beginning I have worked on establishing a positive relationship with my rep. That effort is now paying off when I need it to.

Let's see you get that kind of service with a traditional loan!

It's not an excuse to not provide you with an ECM report. There is still lots of data that would be worth your taking a look at that can be gained from an ECM report. I'm not 100% sure on how all data is logged on ECMs, but from what I see messing around in Insite looking at the ECM on my Cummins, there is plenty of data that is logged that cannot be reset. If I remember correctly you are looking at a truck with a DD15, and while I've never messed with one of those before, I would assume it is similar. Sadwar got a full ECM report on his truck which has a DD15. What I saw them do with my truck was start a new "trip", when I got the truck, but all the cumulative data from the previous "trips" was there to compare as well.

Well Portland is pretty small. The mechanics seem like real down to earth people. Ron the service manager printed out the service stuff done in the past and told me what each code was. Nothing too major except 2-3 power steering pumps and a seal up on the cam holder. He said thats real common on the cam holder, they see them all the time and if its not done, you can have the holder break... so get it done if its leaking up there. They did a front end only alignment and put on a new steer tire and a new drive tire. I'm pretty happy, found some more cosmetic stuff I'd like them to make right, but haven't called and talked to sfi yet about it. The mechanic did replace the grill which the chrome was peeling on. Heading out tomorrow for my first trip. Wish me luck. I may try to get an ecm printout at a different oc. Oh yes, the major work stuff was done under warranty in Joplin.

It has been a wonderful but busy week at home. Now it's time to get back to the grind. Spent a bit on the load board yesterday and started lining up my loads for the week. Got the first on assigned and found two more I am interested in. Waiting on the second load to confirm and I will have 3 booked and ready to ride.

I spent the last two days with my kids cleaning the truck up, it was dirty and in need of cleaning. Thought I might share some pics on here just cause I can.

Not that bright and shiny will make you any extra money, but it sure does look good going down the road...
