An update from the shop... It is not nearly as bad as they first thought. The coolant was coming from 2 coolant lines and being blown all over the place by the fan. The oil that lead to the assumption that the turbo was gone was coming from the oil filter they had just put on the truck.
I should have the truck back tomorrow as long as the work passes quality control. No idea how they intend to QC it. May be able to get back to work tomorrow afternoon if i can find a load and an mty trailer. -
So the truck goes in for using coolent..... They don't see two coolent lines leaking (they might have started leaking after the service). And they don't install the oil filter properly .........
Good luck if you ever have a real problem that needs fixing........... -

It is very common for a coolant leak(s) to develop, or let themselves be known, after other coolant leak(s) have been repaired, pressurized liquid follows the path of least resistance, always, so the weakest point is the original leak, repair that and the next defect is now the weakest point. I have had to explain this to many a customer over the years when addressing cooling system issues. Most often though, the culprits are gaskets and/or seals compared to failing hoses, hoses are normally much more evident and periodic checking tightening of hose clamps is in order as coolant will seep past them as vapor without leaving evidence. Any good mechanic will follow up a cooling system repair will a thorough pressure test.
mickimause, s4l and chicknwing Thank this. -
Finally heading back out. I had planned to leave yesterday, found a good load and booked it headed to Texas, I had a few errands to run and stopped by the OC to give my ICA my new phone number, he looked at my events because they still had me in Forest Park, GA, after I had called them twice to change it to Charlotte, and he said I was not booked on anything, upon further investigation the customer had updated the load would not be ready until Wednesday so they pulled it off me. URGH, why can they not update us when this crap happens? A phone call, an email, something.....
Finished my errands and got on the load board...it took all afternoon to find another load that meets my criteria....finally the load I was really looking for showed up and I got it booked...heading out this morning to Texas on a light load, got my eye on another light load headed out of Dallas. Hope the truck is right and the coolant issues are over with...we shall see.
