For those of you who ever had to deal with the OSR team in Charlotte. Milt Newcombe, the Senior OSR, passed away this morning. Please say a prayer for his wife Sue, his family, and the Charlotte Ops team. We have lost one of the best.

I will miss you Uncle Milt, and I will treasure everything I ever learned from you. RIP my friend.

My thoughts and prayers go out you, CW and Milts family and friends. This news is really hard to believe. I just talked him a week ago when in Charlotte. He did my last two check rides. Wonderful guy. Rest in Peace my friend.

Out of GB you will Bobtail several hundred miles to get an MT more than likely. The hotel is nice and the restaurants are good but you can't partake in the spirits from Monday til Thursday after class. When are you GB bound?

That's ok on the bob tail ...

I got got to run by the house anyway on my first trip have a VA Doctors apt the following Monday .
Do they pay the bobtail for your first empty .. I've saw conflicting reports on different threads from 1.35 bob tail to 0.50 bob tail

I can't remember the exact rate, but I believe it was 1.35 a mile, I jumped on Detroit as there was a relay sitting in our drop yard there that I wanted. They sent some as far as Sutherland, VA, lol. Instead, I grabbed the relay from Detroit THEN went to the Sutherland area for the delivery.

Be watching the load board for a good load out and jump on it when they start giving out options on where to bobtail. You snooze you lose and get sent to the same place 18 other drivers that didn't want to make a decision get sent to, then its everybody for himself to grab a load.
