It's a miracle anyone in the car survived at all.

 

Wow, that's a bad one. Amazing anyone survived. I remember a similar accident back in the 90's with friends of family members. There's not much left.

I can also remember when I was 16 and being a passenger with a drunk driver. Talk about traumatized. We were all begging for our life while the driver laughed. The driver ended up a year later wrapped around a huge tree. They literally pulled teeth out of the bark. Never ride with a drunk driver or let them drive if it can be helped.

The truck driver now has to live with this. He is also a victim. We all play in our minds what we would do. Truth is in 65' vehicle you aren't going to do much when someone comes across the median at you. All you should do is brake and maintain control and protect innocent victims. Him flipping it was just added to the mix because of a panic manuever that didn't work. The only thing one could possibly do is turn into a parallel position. But no truck driver is going to point his rig towards traffic, nor does he have time. Hence the person had it as soon as they come at you.
