Hey, didn't know where else to post this question. I've searched and couldn't find an answer to a continuing log question. If I am driving through midnight and go into another days log, do I have to put where I am at, at midnight? Also on the bottom at the from and to section, do I have to put from where I was at midnight or where I started my trip on the log before, that continues into the next log. Thank you for any help.

I will take a shot at it bbone -till others that know better answer you -- "No" to marking "Midnight location".
Unless you stop somewhere at midnight or change of duty status ?

Agree. I used to run through midnight pretty regularly and never flagged anything at midnight unless I stopped at that time for some reason.

You only put a location down when you change from one line to another as in Changing Duty Status. You are suppose to log at the time that a change takes place. So when you are asked to bring your log books into a weight station for inspection, your logbooks should be correct and up to date showing where you last started to drive.

The from to line should be pick up to final destination. As far as I know it. Correct me I could be VERY wrong here! Good Luck.

You are not required by law to fill out the from and to lines of the logbook. No midnight unless your changing duty status.

The only time a flag is required is when there is a change in duty status. If you are driving at midnight then your duty status has not changed. So just keep trucking. As for the other question, that information is always where you picked up your load and where it is delivering to.

Unless you are going from 1 duty status to another at that hour no need for anything. Only flag changes in duty status.

I put nearest location and odometer mileage at midnite, and the miles driven per day to correspond. I figure this later, I don't start a new page for after midnite until I get stopped somewhere. I'm not saying anyone else is doing it wrong, it just works out better for me to do it this way.

I just always did it this way from driving nights so much. No one(including enforcement) has told me otherwise
