Hello Everyone,
Just got back into town from much needed vacation. Took 13 days in Tokyo and had a great time. I'd have started training this coming Monday, but decided it was better to let my circadian rhythm get back on central US time, so I'll start 20 May instead.
Am looking forward to starting this new career driving a truck and meeting some of you on the road.
Take care and safe driving to ya'll.
Mike

Welcome to TTR, good luck in training
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Did you stay in one of those little coffin sized hotels?
I went to Seoul, South Korea about a month ago and had a relaxing time. Went just for the heck of it. I'm in Beijing now kicked back. -
Naw, was fortunate and stayed with a friend. I have stayed in the businessman hotels though. They can seem very cramped for a 6' 1" man.
How's Beijing? Got your gas mask? Haven't been to china yet. It's a "one of these days" placeChinatown Thanks this. -
Beijing is OK, just too much cold weather during the winter months. The air seems to be getting worse lately, like it can't escape from the city. We're trying to buy a home in Las Vegas and live there; hot weather year round which I like. Plenty of good trucking jobs there also. I've done the hazmat/tanker/passport/TWIC driving 48 states & Canada, so I'm good to go.

Do you have an agent in LV? I used to live there until I lost my job, then my house. I can recommend a good agent if you'd like. She found me a good house, it was my problem I lost it, not hers.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Already dealing with an agent; but, thanks anyway. Suppose to close next week, but it's been a nightmare even with a very high credit score. It could still fall through I suppose. It seems they prefer investors. The house is in Seven Hills/Henderson. I like the southern Nevada weather and the no personal income tax there. If you need help or information on trucking, post a thread on "Questions From New Drivers" , it's monitored more by the experienced drivers that can help. If you have any questions about trucking I'll try to answer also.

Thanks. Good luck with the house. I'm fortunate to be in a house I bought in 06 before everthing went down the crapper. Will start scool with Roehl 20 May. Looking forward to this last career change.

Many positive comments on here about Roehl, so it seems you picked a good company. If you ever decide to leave Roehl, consider a tanker/hazmat company where you can make avg. $65K per year. The drivers posting on here about Roehl all say they make a real good living and have good benefits. Take care. Good to hear you have a home; that's more than many can say these days.
