Yeah I'm full of them - I have seen mentioned PTI - is that 'pre trip inspection'?? Or something else. I looked through the list of abbriviation I have - but that one isn't in there - must not be the best list - LOL!

Another question... (told you I was full of them :) what is a DAC report - I can't figure out that one - except its something like a report card that follows you around.

Now called Hireright.... DAC (no I can't remember what it stands for) is a report card. The company you worked for puts all the negative things you did as a driver. Other (hiring) companies see it and it can (and does) affect you at hiring time.

Example: Me 22 months driving for Swift, 2-3 loads daily, all but 1 early or on time deliveries. On my DAC: "1 preventable accident, popping a tire." Nothing about the positive side of my record.

ok, Pre-trip inspection as was mentioned......however....Post-trip inspection as well post trip inspection is what's required for us to do at the end of our shift/day.....many times though, i might have put P.T. instead of PTI.....or i would just write the words post trip......

believe it or not, the man that developed the DAC report, never gave the initials any meaning. some would argue it meant Drive A Check......but it never did, it was only the spreading of what was thought them to mean...

some months ago, i looked up DAC as to who "created it", and although i cannot fully remember, the letters are the man's initials in reverse. for instance, i think his first name was Charles......again, unfortunately, i cannot find this info right now, but i'll try at a later time when i can.

now to continue with DAC information, you are allowed 1 FREE report each year. or a free report(s) if you have been denied a job or you are trying to clear up mis-information on your DAC report. if you ARE NOT a truck driver now, well to get a free report wouldn't hurt you, but might prove to be useless at this time. but once you start driving, then once per year, get your free copy. if you are NOT entitled to a free copy, because you already got one free, then you have to pay for one. there IS a process to obtain your copy, free or paid for.....you cannot simply email or call......trust me...it's long and drawn out what YOU must do.

Umm.....nope.....maybe for THAT organization..........but NOT for the trucking industry......
