The Wyoming legislature will be taking action on this. The last time there was a massive pileup at the Fort Steele rest area exit they came up with the variable speed limit. My guess is they will shut the road down when there is a combination of icy slick roads and FOG. Surprised there have not been more accidents around the country will all of the fast driving in foggy conditions that I have seen.

We were discussing this wreck in the thread about the one a few days ago. It's crazy, and now someone has been charged. YES the CB radio is an invaluable tool in bad weather. I get that looking at road conditions helps, but up to the second news about what's going on can't be replaced. My cb radio is always on in bad weather. Wind, heavy rain, snow, ice, fog and chain up areas. No reason for it not to be. But even the cb won't help in all cases. Many of the drivers on I-80 are non English speaking. They also do not heed warnings or understand the warnings. This is a problem. And if we continue letting people in this country and literally handing them commercial driver's licenses, and we keep pushing these new drivers through the CDL mills without proper training and the cowboy mentality keeps rearing its ugly head, there will be more accidents and more death. Especially on I-80.

Typical bs comments blaming new drivers large carriers and foreigners. I not buying that's the cause of these two wrecks. I've been around plenty of of older generation drivers some of you folks are no angles. The general stereo type the public holds of a driver which is far from good and includes being obese, having poor hygiene, using drugs to stay awake, poor education, etc. Its a stereo type that was here long before my generation of driver was on the job. Its the older generation of driver that earned themselves a poor reputation that my generation now inherits yet when something like this happens the older generation wants to come out of the woodwork with the comments pointing fingers as though they wear a halo.

what does lack of education have to do with it...it doesnt makes someone better than i am just because they have a better education...i know this wasnt specifically to me but lack of education has nothing to do with skills and ability to drive a truck....that just doesnt make any sense
oh yeah and the drug comment, hmmm i wonder just HOW many threads are on here about , "can i pass a drug test" " Does X company do hair testing ?" " i took x drug for this reason, can i pass?" and MOST OF THEM are heading to driving school.....maybe the old timers did do some dope but at least they knew how to do it and not wreck in the processMoon_beam Thanks this. -
and no before some of you start i am not condoning drug use
regardless of WHO is at fault or HOW LONG they have been driving, the bottom line is, the accidents are happening at an alarming rate...costing lives and untold dollar amounts to clean up, delays in delivery and pick up times, loss of product and equipment....its ridiculous....drvrtech77 Thanks this. -
