I witness this practice daily. Absolute idiocy. No sense…no skills. A primary reason I can’t wait to retire.

Been out here a bit over five years and I’ve still never once parked on a ramp or on the shoulder for my break. Bad case of diarrhea did it once for a few minutes, that was it…I like to be comfortable when I’m in the bunk trying to sleep I don’t want to be sitting there with one eye open waiting to hear someone slam into me. Even in a truckstop, I don’t usually fall asleep until both of the slots next to me have the trucks backed into them. I’ve been hit three times parked at a truckstop, while a newbie is backing and taking off my bumper. That makes me nervous enough. I can’t imagine parking on an offramp at 2 AM in the morning on a Saturday. Waiting for some drunk to come flying down the off ramp at 100 miles an hour in smash into my truck.

No, No, No. EVERYONE has parked on the shoulder or ramp a time or two in their career. We all make mistakes, and if you say you haven't then you're lying and acting like your better than everyone else. At least that's what that Bryan guy says...

It is ILLEGAL to stop, stand or park on the travelled portion of the roadway in ALL 50 states. Make it a $1500 ticket and start writing them and it would get better. Problem is nobody is enforcing the laws much anymore, anywhere.

The just pulling back onto the interstate into traffic started being a trend about a year ago with those that use English as a fourth language.

    Dodged several of them.

Please do not profile or label, cause that is bad.

Actually Virginia has been cracking down on it in recent years, plus they assess points against your license.

Turned in a Crete driver in today. No triangles, no 4-ways, nothin' From dead stop sitting on the shoulder gets right on the freeway. I was the truck right there. Me and everyone behind me had to slow down to 35 MPH so he could get going.
