Another Reason to Not Park On The Shoulder

The shoulder is not concrete or paved. The people we are talking about are to the right of the fog line ON THE ROAD. The shoulder is off the roadway.

 

I must have used words that were too big for you to pronounce because you didn't read anything I typed, nor did you understand. It's no point.

 

Everything from the white line to the edge of the pavement is legally considered "improved shoulder." In some parts of the country they call it the breakdown lane, but around here we just call it the shoulder.

 

First, I want to say this happens almost weekly on I10, I15, and I40 in California and doesn't make the news. I see it all the time on the CalTrans App. Just had another one this morning on I10. XPO truck parked on the shoulder and another truck ran into the back. Seems everyone is doing it now. Of course, the guys that started it all, but the sheep just followed what they saw. I see all the Union Companies with all their safety rules doing it now. All the Megas. Just saw a Walmart truck pull right off the shoulder on SR99 in Ca. causing havoc yesterday. Amazon has sent multiple messages banning parking on the shoulder and they're the worst offenders. It's a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Oh yeah??? ...Now that you mention it, can't say I have ever seen a Landstar branded trailer parked on the shoulder. I'm sure all the others I mentioned have a similar policy. I know Amazon does. But if L.E. doesn't write a ticket or nobody calls it in, how would the company know???

 

Actually quite a few have been making the news but that’s usually because one or more fatalities have been involved.
Some of these drivers don’t get it and/or some of them DGAF,until they’re the ones involved in a collision.

 

More enforcement needs to commence because these morons pulling over on the shoulder like that with nothing short of an emergency is unacceptable and it’s all gonna get more people killed the way they keep doing it

 

But it takes too much time to exit the freeway and find a parking spot for that 30 minute break. Hit the shoulder and hope you don't get whacked.
