2008 was the first year when DPF was introduced, so those trucks usually were the most problematic.
I also think your buddy does not tell the truth of how much money he really nets at the end of the year, but at least he got a truck, which can make him money.
Another thinking about getting my own truck thread lol..

When I worked for Greatwide, they had local or regional or OTR.
Maybe don't have anything available in Waco though.joseph1853 Thanks this. -
Have you contacted the aggregate carriers in your area and found out what they pay along with their requirements for owner operators. Gather this information before considering the truck purchase and you may be surprised of how many companies are paying owner ops 1.00 per mile plus some type of fuel surcharge.
From my experience most companies want to see some type of dump trailer or dump truck experience before they will let you pull one of their trailers.
After all of that if you still want to pursue this venture. Find a solid pre emission 15k-20k truck and have another 15k in reserves after the truck is made DOT ready.
My 2 cents. Good luckDino soar and joseph1853 Thank this. -

I'd love to know where all these decent $15k trucks are. Most cases I see nothing but someone else's old bagged out POS. I don't see anything decent until about the $40k to $50k range.
The Biggest Dawg Thanks this.
