Train hits semi-truck in Conyers; road prohibited tractor-trailers | FOX 5 Atlanta
Sign at the intersection before the crossing clearly says in black and white (doesn’t get any simpler than that):NO TRACTOR TRAILERS!!
Right now CSX is probably thinking “WTF is going on with these truck drivers getting into collisions with our trains?!?!”.

I watched a video where the narrator states that a car crossing RR tracks after the crossing was down was struck by a train.
No.
The car hit the train because it entered a prohibited space. The train was where it was supposed to be, the car was not.
Kinda like how a car driver can strike a bicyclist from behind and it's the bicyclist's fault because he wasn't wearing a helmet.Kyle G., broke down plumber and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
I recall listening to one of the Norfolk Southern track supervisors discuss a crossing similar to this one. They later fixed it so that trucks can cross over it. What happened was that the brakeman of another train working near the intersection on a side track saw that the truck was stuck. Used his radio to inform the engineer/dispatch to stop. As it was, the train stopped about 200' from hitting the truck. One of those trains takes miles to stop. That observant brakeman might have saved some lives as well as the truck and a lot of delays cleaning up.
